Christmas = Bozich.
Bozich means Christmas in Croatian. Naturally, Christmas has special meaning and is a very special time to spend with family. Traditionally Christmas Eve was the big celebration day for the Bozich side of the family. Our traditional Christmas Eve dinner, prepared with lots of love by my mom, consisted of Shrimp De Juan and Linguine with Clam Sauce. As my sibling's families grew and relocated, I took on the traditional Christmas Eve feast for the Chicago Bozich families. Cooking for family is what sparked my love of cooking. Whether it was frequent trips to St. Louis to visit my brother Mike and his family or flying to Idaho to give my mom a well deserved break for her birthday weekend... I freakin love feeding people. "Love on a Plate".... if you are truly into cooking, and feels the passion, there is no other expression more intimate that creating a culinary masterpiece for family. Seeing the smiles and hearing they love the food is the best gift at Christmas time.
My nieces and nephews have favorite, now traditional appetizers, always included in our Christmas Eve feast. Every year, I create something new, which typically gets a dry run the week before to be sure it's worthy of feeding my family.
